Black People are marginalised by the FCA
The
BGOASA was established in 2003 when "80% of our licence applications
were turned down", as chairman Abios Khoele says. "First you buy
the firearm for R4000-5000. Then you need a safe which costs about
R250 and revenue stamps which you buy for about R140. Then you have
to pay about R750 for training. After you've met all the Act's requirements
they turn down your application for 'lack of motivation' - not giving

The
fight so far
The
history of the protest against the FCA goes back as far as 1999,
when the first proposals for a 'new' firearms act to replace the
Act of 1969 was mooted by government at the urging of the global-gun-grab
proponents, headed in SA by gun Free SA.

Relicencing
statistics to March 16 2009
The
FCA process began after promulgation of the FCA in 2004 and ended
March 30 2009 - by which date all 2.5 million firearm-owners would
be expected to have applied for relicencing of their legally held
firearms.
