Our Mission and Objective

BGOASA fights for the rights of law-abiding citizens of South Africa to keep and bear licenced and registered firearms for purposes of self-defence, or for any other legal purpose.

The Objective of BGOASA is to bring public pressure to bear on the government of SA to:

Announce a moratorium on prosecutions of individuals holding firearms which are licenced under the Arms and Ammunition Act of 1969.

Rescind the iniquitous and unconstitutional Firearms Control Act of 200 (Act 60 of 2000) in it's entirety and to revert to the previous Arms and Ammunition Act of 1969.

Return to their rightful ownership any firearms handed in for destruction and not yet destroyed.

Compel the Central Firearms registry to account in detail for all firearms claimed destroyed to date.

Refund all monies paid for application to re-issue licences under the FCA

The means by which such pressure can be generated would include all and any legal means by way of:

Public education on the natural right to self-defence

Public education on the constitutional right to self-defence in terms of giving effect to the provision that no person may be deprived of the right to life

Public education of the value of an armed citizenry

Public education of the constitutional infringements implicit in this Act

Mobilisation of public support to pressurise government on this issue

Mobilisation of funds sufficient to institute legal action against the existence of the Act
