What does BGOASA stand for?

  • BGOASA stands for the rights and freedom of all South Africans to own firearms.
  • For defence of one life and property
  • For defence of others in the community
  • For any sporting and recreational purposes
  • BGOASA believes that free people are not denied the right to firearm ownership.
  • BGOASA believes that free people are not punished or marginalised should they own firearms.
  • BGOASA believes that laws should be humanitarian, and meet society's needs.
  • BGOASA does not believe that government has any right to restrict the owning of firearms to any law abiding sane adult until government can show with recognised valid evidence that gun control will have any impact on crime.

Government and the SAPS have not produced a single shred of evidence that the FCA will be of any benefit to society.

What kind of government do we have in South Africa?

What is the international evidence?

BGOASA is the South African based movement to restore your rights to personal defensive firearms, which rights have been maliciously and undemocratically removed as a result of the actions of the UN - led global campaign against legally owned firearms in citizen's hands and the result of that campaign in South Africa - the Firearms Control Act of 2000.

Your constitutional rights are violated by the Firearms Control Act of 2000 - particularly your right to life, property and privacy rights - in the most serious way.

As a current legally registered and licenced owner of a firearm your right to own and keep that firearm for legitimate purposes is infringed by this legislation.

Following Jun 30 2009 you will be deemed a criminal, subject to up to 10 years imprisonment for owning such property - if you do not submit to the FCA of 2000 and apply to relicence your firearm

If you do submit and attempt to relicence your firearm, statistics available reveal that it is very unlikely that you will be granted a licence and you will be forced to surrender that firearm without compensation.

If you are one of the few granted a licence that licence will be for a period of 5 years only and then you will be compelled to undergo the relicencing process, with all it's costs and inconveniences once again ad infinitum. Furthermore this will provide the authorities yet another opportunity to reject your application and to seize your property.
